El Departamento del Trabajo Federal ha certificado a Checkpoint Caribbean Limited en Ponce, Puerto Rico para Asistencia por Ajuste en el Comercio, conocido en inglés como "Trade Adjustment Assistance"(TAA) y Asistencia Alternativa por Ajuste en el Comerico, conocido en inglés como " Alternative Trade Adjustement Assistance"(ATAA) desde el 17 de enero de 2007.
Todo trabajador desplazado de esta empresa afectado por una separación total o parcial de su empleo, en o después del 13 de diciembre de 2005, cuya labor se relacionaba a la producción de sensores electrónicos, puede ser elegible para recibir servicios de empleo tales como: preparación del resumé, consejería ocupacional, referidos de empleo y beneficios económicos para servicios de adiestramiento bajo la Ley de Comercio de 2002 hasta dos años a partir de esta certificación.
Los trabajadores interesados en obtener los servicios y beneficios de TAA/ATAA deberán acudir al Centro de Gestión Única más cercano a su residencia o comunicarse al Consejo de Desarrollo Ocupacional y Recursos Humanos al (787) 754-5504.
