¿Qué es WIA?

La Ley de Inversión para el Desarrollo de la Fuerza Trabajadora mejor conocida como WIA - Workforce Investment Act -, por sus siglas en inglés, fue aprobada en el 1998 y es un programa de adiestramiento y empleo que persigue que el participante se coloque en un empleo para lograr su autosuficiencia económica y lograr una fuerza laboral competitiva.El Programa WIA se establece en Puerto Rico en el 2000 y es el Consejo de Desarrollo Ocupacional (CDORH) quien asigna los fondos a las 15 áreas locales, entre ellas Ponce.
